Established in 2013 in the city of Lille, WayKonect is a startup that has developed an innovative offer which enables B2B customers to connect their vehicles, thereby optimizing the process of managing their vehicle fleet. Total, a pioneer in the fuel card and related tools business, is acquiring a set of tools that combine digital data processing solutions, an application for drivers and an embedded physical unit.
Total had already initiated a major turning point in 2017 by positioning itself as a key player in fleet management with the launch of GR Analytics. Total’s B2B clients will now benefit from additional expertise developed by WayKonect:
- Reliable and secure control of vehicle-related data: maintenance, mileage, consumption...
- Tailored optimization of resulting costs
- Customized analysis of driver behavior with a view to enhancing driver safety while lowering fuel consumption
- Reliable and secure protection of driver privacy thanks to specific technical parameters
« Customer proximity and listening to our clients are at the core of the approach developed by WayKonect, as it is for Total, and we are pleased to see them join the Group,” says Antoine Tournand, Vice President Retail and Cards in Total Marketing & Services. “Based on a judicious and scalable technological foundation, WayKonect’s founders and employees have developed a remarkable and convenient interface. Integrating WayKonect completes Total’s offer by adding automated connection to vehicles, as well as an application that enables dialogue with the driver. The offer thus supplemented will give the 400 000 professional customers who trust us in Europe additional efficiency and better control of their fleet and fuel budgets. »
« We are delighted to see four years of work and personal investment rewarded in this way.” welcomes Yassin Korchi, CEO and co-founder of WayKonect. “As a pioneer in intelligent fleet management, joining a group such as Total is first and foremost an acknowledgement of the value and professionalism of our solution. We will now be able to work toward long term development while maintaining our flexibility, our autonomy of development and our capacity to innovate. »
WayKonect’s teams remain based in Lille.
